Here’s a very interesting and intimate look at the long hours on the film and TV sets, which literally is a matter of life and death. The documentary reminds me of the long and unpredictable hours during my production days. There was also this international survey in 2013 that reveals that Singaporeans work an average of 2287 hours a year, one of the longest in the world, while Americans work an average of 1703 hours, British 1650 hours and the efficient Germans 1406 hours. Nowadays, it is not only long hours but lower pays due to the budget cuts in the industry. I think humanity needs to wake up and realise that we work to live, not live to work.
